Projection screen manufacturer Elite Screens is showcasing its new Lunette A4K curved frame projection screen with next-generation acoustically transparent material at this year’s InfoComm MEA.
The curve design of the Lunette, says the company, enhances its aesthetic appeal by giving its viewers the sensation of being physically drawn into the cinemascope film. The curve also eliminates the “pincushion effect” commonly experienced when projecting in a 2.35:1 (Cinemascope) format.
In addition, the Lunette incorporates Elite’s AcousticPro A4K acoustically transparent material and features a 1.1 gain projection surface with an angular mesh weave design for optimal sound penetration. The material has been crafted to allow in-wall speakers behind the screen to give an excellent audio performance. Meanwhile, visually, the material eliminates the moiré artifacts when working with the anamorphic lens and scalers to enhance clarity and resolution.
What’s more, as well as having an acoustic weave that is black backed to eliminate bounce back distortion, the Lunette’s framework is 3.5in anodized aluminum frame which is velour surfaced to eliminate projector glare while enhancing image contrast. Its sliding wall brackets also allows for each installation to be perfectly centered.
