INFiLED screens upgrade major French stadium

Pair of MV Series screens bring 8,000-nit outdoor performance to 25,000-seat Marie-Marvingt Stadium in Le Mans, which hosts over 100 football, rugby and concert events a year

INFiLED MV Series LED displays have been installed at the Marie-Marvingt Stadium in Le Mans, France, replacing aging screens that the company says no longer met the standards expected at the venue.

French integrator AUVISYS specified and delivered the project, which comprises two screens each measuring 9 x 5m. The displays are designed to deliver 8,000 nits of brightness, providing visibility across the full range of lighting conditions the stadium encounters – from bright afternoon sunlight to evening floodlit events. The venue hosts more than 100 events a year, including football, rugby and concerts.

Before installation could begin, AUVISYS had to address corroded mounting brackets from the previous installation. The team sandblasted, repainted and modified the existing brackets rather than replacing them, a process the company says was made more practical by the MV Series panels being considerably lighter than their predecessors.

The MV Series features an aluminium profile frame system rated to IP65 front and rear, is designed to offer protection against dust, moisture, UV exposure and temperature fluctuation. Wide viewing angles are intended to ensure consistent image quality across all seating areas, while high bit-depth processing is designed to support smooth gradients and accurate colour reproduction.

The modular design means individual modules are interchangeable, which the company says keeps maintenance straightforward and minimises both downtime and long-term costs.

Christophe Vallee, general director of AUVISYS, said: “The existing mounting infrastructure had deteriorated over the years, and that was the first challenge we had to resolve. Because the MV Series panels are so much lighter than the previous installation, we were able to work with the existing brackets rather than replace them entirely. It was a practical approach that kept the project on track.”

Vallee added: “The stadium needed screens that could perform reliably in all conditions and deliver image quality worthy of the events hosted here. The MV Series gave us the confidence to meet every requirement in the brief.”
