HK Audio’s COSMO line array system delivered the audio for the last ever edition of Hungary’s famous Bánkitó Festival, which wrapped up its 16-year run this summer. It marked the largest COSMO deployment in the country to date.
Held July 9-13 at Lake Bánk, about 40m north of Budapest, the festival’s final edition featured sets from Csaknekedkislány, Carson Coma, 30Y, Co Lee and Sisi.
The main stage system combined C10 and C6 modules in a mixed array, supported by HK Audio subs. With limited front-of-house space and steeply rising seating on the hilly terrain, the system’s modular design and flexible rigging proved critical, the company explained.
Karel Noon, application support engineer at HK Audio, said: “COSMO works out of the box really well. We fine-tuned the system in under 30 minutes with Event Studio and Eurhythmics. The ease of use and sound quality were top-notch – everything I heard at Bánkitó was brilliant.”
Gábor Major, sound engineer for systems integrator Eurhythmics, added: “We could hang the speakers easily and aim precisely. This was the first and biggest COSMO system in Hungary, and it performed flawlessly. The modularity is incredible – no need for different rails or rigging systems, and even the DJs were happy with the volume!”
Domokos Lugost, audio engineer at live sound partner Event Studio, commented: “We didn’t need to measure or correct anything – it just sounded right. The COSMO system gave us complete peace of mind. Even notoriously tricky elements like snare drums came through perfectly, with no adjustments needed.”
