The long-expected restoration of Nicosia Municipal Theatre in Cyrpus has been completed thanks to the joint effort of international brands such as LDA Audio Tech, who provided its EN54 certified public address, BGM and voice evacuation systems.
Since its opening in 1967, the theatre has been the cornerstone of performing arts in the country. However, the building suffered a collapse in 2008 and since then it had faded into oblivion until its recent restoration.
NEO solutions, supplemented by multi-source players, paging stations and EN54-24 anti-vandal speakers, were chosen to ensure the venue’s safety and audio intelligibility for this centralised announcement, music and public address system.
With a capacity of 1,000 people, Nicosia Municipal Theatre has become the largest theatre in Cyprus and from now on it will host both theatrical and musical events thanks to its orchestra pit. Accessibility has also been improved for people with reduced mobility and, although some construction elements have been eliminated, others have been maintained and improved for greater functionality and beauty.
The renovation of the lighting, sound, music and announcement, intercom, CCTV and stage engineering systems was carried out by local installer V Hypersound & Light Ltd, which chose kit from manufacturers including Chauvet Professional, Renkus-Heinz, ARX, Chemtrol Stage, Ashly Audio and Clockaudio.
