CHAUVET and Iluminarc LED fixtures have been installed on one of Carnival Cruise Lines’ newest and largest ships, Carnival Dream. The 1,004ft-long vessel is the third Carnival Cruise Lines ship to feature Iluminarc lighting on the Lido Deck following on from the Carnival Spirit and Carnival Miracle.
Employed as an outdoor party area and ‘Seaside Theatre’ for outdoor movies, the Lido Deck is illuminated with a total of 30 Iluminarc Ilumipod 48 IP fixtures. The IP66-rated lights are said to be ideally suited to withstanding the demanding environmental conditions, while the white finish allows them to blend seamlessly into the ship’s design.
“Bringing the Ilumipod 48 IP fixtures on-board has added greatly to the fun atmosphere on the Lido Deck,” said Graham Neave, Carnival’s entertainment technical supervisor – lighting.
Ten CHAUVET COLORado 2 wash lights have also been specified for Carnival Dream. The high-power LED fixtures eliminate lamp changes and require little regular maintenance – important advantages given their location high above a stage and dancefloor area in the main lobby.
