Green Hippo’s Hippotizer media servers are at the core of the newly launched Future Stores immersive retail activation space on London’s Oxford Street, delivering real-time media playback across 400sqm of high-resolution LED displays. The space uses seven Hippotizer Boreal+ MK2 servers to manage six synchronised 8K video feeds mapped onto ten irregular LED surfaces.
The venue features ultra-fine-pitch 1.5mm MIP (Micro LED in Package) and COB (Chip on Board) LED panels, which required precise playback and synchronisation. Genlock functionality within the Hippotizer system enabled pixel-accurate alignment of high-motion content, a key requirement in a retail space built for dynamic, immersive storytelling.
Deployed by global AV integrator Mood Media, the system is designed to support short-term brand residencies lasting two to six weeks. The venue’s flexible infrastructure allows retailers to deliver custom campaigns that integrate digital visuals with physical environments, often supported by live analytics such as footfall tracking, dwell time, and demographic data.
Nick Phillips, VP of solution engineering at Mood Media, said: “Mapping 153m pixels onto irregular LED surfaces required an ultra-reliable, high-performance solution. Hippotizer gave us the power and precision we needed – and Green Hippo’s team provided incredible on-site support to ensure flawless execution.
“Future Stores sets a new benchmark for experiential retail. It’s where immersive storytelling meets intelligent data – powered by Green Hippo.”
Brands including Intel and Snapchat have already launched activations at the venue, taking advantage of the programmable environment and integrated audience measurement tools. Looking ahead, Phillips said the team is exploring integration with a grandMA console for live show control and evaluating Hippotizer’s new MX Series for projects requiring 10-bit colour support and expanded media storage.
