Ambassador Hotel in Tbilisi, Georgia, has selected Traxon Technologies LED lighting systems to create an iridescent atmosphere for its exterior. Inspired by the desire of Georgia’s president Mikheil Saakashvili to create an eye-catching skyline around the nearby presidential palace, the new Ambassador Hotel lighting installation was devised by a company called Gelania.

The ability to sweep lighting animations from one building to another is among the advantages of specifying LED lighting. Sixty-six sets of Traxon Outdoor RGB Dot Strings highlight the building’s edges, while 24 pieces of 36 XB Wall Washers and 36 pieces of 9 and 27 XB Nanoliners sweep the walls with single colour or colour-changing lighting effects. In total, 10,560 pixels are controlled by 63 DMX universal channels with the e:cue LAS1 controlling system.

The programming of the various animations was undertaken by Oto Pirveli from Tbilisi City Hall and Rogier Hengeveld from Traxon Technologies.

Traxon Technologies’ Hanjie Gao told Installation Europe: “The success of the Ambassador Hotel project is a determining factor as to how Traxon will be seen as a global leader in LED lighting systems in Georgia. Traxon Technologies shows the flexibility of its LED lighting systems in terms of architainment lighting applications.”
