The official launch for a new demo version of Genelec Audio over IP (GAIP) will take place at ISE early next month.
Visitors to the Genelec booth (1H79) will have the opportunity to see a fully operational system that demonstrates the software and hardware capabilities of the system.
In the wake of a preview last year, GAIP has continued to evolve through extensive R&D work.
Previewed in 2010 to much acclaim (it received a ‘Pick of ISE Award) GAIP has evolved over the over the last year through extensive R&D work. The fully standards-compliant system can co-exist and co-operate as a part of other standards-compliant solutions, such as Ravenna and AVB, and is able to able to deliver an audio transmission that does not require a separate clock master device or any currently non-existing functionality in IP switch devices.
GAIP is also compatible with USB sound card support existing more computer platforms and operating systems, paving the way for simple and easy construction of a Genelec IP audio network.
The result of Genelec’s labours, says marketing manager Terho Savolainen, is “a solution based on standard technologies that delivers the best possible audio over IP technology for professional installation applications.”
