Wembley Arena continues to develop following a major refurbishment back in 2006, with the latest upgrade being to emergency lighting. Fagan Electrical opts for GDS’ ArcSystem.
Wembley Arena in London is one of the premier entertainment destinations in the UK. Since opening in 1934 as The Empire Pool, the venue has hosted a plethora of major worldwide artists. From the Beatles to the Stones and Beyonce to Muse, Wembley has seen and heard them all.
As part of the continuing development of the venue following a major refurbishment back in 2006, contractor Fagan Electrical has identified the need for significant improvements to the levels of emergency lighting in its general technical evaluation. The Wembley Arena management asked Fagan to recommend an efficient and sustainable solution and the contractor opted for GDS’ ArcSystem, supplied by White Light.
White Light supplied 44 GDS Arc 8 cell emergency fittings, 2 x TX 1 transmitters, 1 x button panel and 1 x commissioning tool. The Arc fittings, with their dual inputs, were considered the ideal choice for emergency lighting. Add to this the efficiency of ArcSystem’s high output to low energy ratio, as well as its low maintenance qualities and it soon became clear why it was selected for this application.
Ultimately, of course, the purpose of the installation was to enhance the safety of the public and in that respect the brightness afforded by the Arc fittings fulfilled the requirements with something to spare. www.gds.uk.com
