Full Production brings array of AV to Kia’s London showroom

Entertainment solutions specialist has delivered a fully integrated LED, lighting and control system at Kia dealership Great West Road, combining Q-SYS automation, unbranded high-res displays, Novastar processing and CLS luminaires

Full Production, a Berkshire-based entertainment solutions specialist, has completed an integrated installation combining an unbranded 3.9mm high-resolution LED display driven by Novastar processing, a 140-fixture theatrical lighting scheme from CLS, and centralised control via Q-SYS at the flagship Kia dealership on the Great West Road in Brentford, London. The project – at the largest Kia dealership in Europe – brings together LED, lighting and control into a cohesive, automated environment designed to enhance vehicle presentation and customer experience.

The main screen covers more than 60sqm at 3.9mm pixel pitch, complemented by a separate 17sqm totem screen to the right, both driven by Novastar processing. The previous installation had featured a semi-transparent 16mm pixel pitch screen with purely functional white lighting – a setup Full Production replaced entirely, with the old screen, lighting and tracks sustainably recycled under TÜV Austria’s OK scheme before the new system was installed in ten days.

The lighting scheme deploys 140 CLS Jade luminaires – 60 Tunable White and 80 ColourFlow RGBW – controlled via a Visual Productions CueCore3 solid state controller for lighting cue playback, with Q-SYS providing central control across the whole system. Full Production pre-visualised the entire environment using Syncronorm’s Depence platform before installation began in December.

Steve Richardson, managing director at Full Production, said: “The whole design intent was that we introduce strong, saturated colour around and behind the cars and then pick out the cars in white – with minimal spill – to add depth between the cars and the screen, and to create that sense of ‘theatre’ in terms of cuing and movement. Using theatrical lighting techniques, we aimed to really maximise the impact of the display, with the cars themselves taking centre stage in front of the striking screen – effectively the stars of the show.”

The completed installation is remotely monitored daily, with Q-SYS issuing automated status updates and two PTZ cameras generating short video clips for review by Full Production’s support team.

Maaike De Vries, events and sponsorship manager at Kia Motors UK, added: “The new screen is absolutely perfect – so much brighter, with so much more clarity. And the lighting has really helped to create more depth, more theatre. It gives us good options to change the whole look and feel of the space.”
