French conference centre upgrades to Meyer’s M’elodie

Issues relating to audio shadowing when two large video screens are dropped down from the ceiling – not to mention the presence of a retractable glass wall – generated some sound design challenges, resolved via the use of Meyer Sound’s MAPP Online Pro acoustical prediction program.

The system resulting from this process includes two arrays of five M’elodie loudspeakers above the stage, augmented by two UPM-1P wide coverage loudspeakers and a quartet of 650-P high-power subwoofers.

“Because of its compact size and long throw, M’elodie is the perfect line array solution for this space,” commented Jean-Philippe Horcajada, technical sales manager for project contractor Spotco.
