Extra capabilities for DF Solutions’ BASE

DF Solutions has developed ‘significant new enhancements’ for its acclaimed range of multiroom media servers, which are available exclusively in the UK from AWE Europe.

DF Solutions has developed ‘significant new enhancements’ for its acclaimed range of multiroom media servers, which are available exclusively in the UK from AWE Europe.

The Base3D Media Server now offers full Blu-ray-3D ripping support from in-tray and NAS playback, together with TrueHD and DTS-HD bit-streaming. This functionality has been developed to support the storage and playback of non-copyright 3D Blu-rays created using the new ranges of home camcorders and other non-copyright protected material.

There is also full support for Spotify, as well as internet-streaming capability for services including Last.FM, YouTube, Flickr, BBC News feeds and weather – with more to follow.

The Base3D unit can be used in a single room or easily integrated into a whole home custom installation using the updated Link Clients, which are also offered in either Blu-ray/3D or with non-BD/3D configurations.

DF Solutions has reduced print points for both the entry-level BASE media server and the Link client. Meanwhile, the Sonix3Zone has had a graphics and CPU upgrade, improving overall performance.

James Drummie, product manager at AWE Europe, commented: “DF Solutions has significantly strengthened its product offering with the latest entry level Base model, and advanced 3D and Spotify developments. We are delighted that we are now able to supply these media servers with extra flexibility, extensive functionality and greater affordability.”
