ETC introduces Fire and Ice LED fixtures

In response to calls for more Selador LED lighting fixtures, ETC has announced two bold colour spectrum-specific versions: Fire and Ice.

In response to calls for more Selador LED lighting fixtures, ETC has announced two bold colour spectrum-specific versions: Fire and Ice. While Fire features a warm wash of saturated reds, oranges and ambers “never before seen” from LEDs or gels, Ice provides a palette of brilliant deep indigo, blue, cyan, green – and a touch of red.

Integral to the new Selador Vivid line-up, Fire and Ice offer rich, lush colours while “equalling or exceeding the brightness performance of conventional tungsten PAR fixtures and saving dramatically on electricity”. In a typical colour application, Fire and Ice fixtures are said to produce more light and consume less than 70W of power compared to their gelled tungsten counterparts at 575W.

Applications include theatre, broadcast and special lighting projects such as those in themed environments like casinos and retail outlets.

Moreover, developments in LED technology have prompted an upgrade of the original Vivid fixture to the new Vivid-R. According to ETC, the new, more eco-friendly fixture provides a 50% increase in light output while consuming 10% less power.

Erik Larsen, ETC’s market manager for Europe, told IE: “ETC is committed to helping venues to reduce their carbon footprint, so following the successful acquisition of the Selador Series of LED fixtures last year our major product development focus this year is to extend and improve the range. By introducing Vivid Fire and Ice and improving the original Vivid – all of which will be on show at Prolight + Sound in March – we extend the range of places that can benefit from stage lighting that is kind to the environment while providing the best colour mixing of any LED fixture line on the market.”
