Dramatic new Danish install for Meyer Sound at Odense Theatre

Installation company Stouenborg has provided the Odense Theatre – one of Denmark’s most distinguished dramatic venues – with a new Meyer Sound-based surround audio system.

Installation company Stouenborg has provided the Odense Theatre – one of Denmark’s most distinguished dramatic venues – with a new Meyer Sound-based surround audio system.

Headquartered in Kastrup, Stouenborg is run by acclaimed lighting designer Kasper Stouenborg, whose team includes sound designer Anders Jørgensen and production management specialist Stine Skot.

The company’s latest project was achieved in a quick turnaround of just 14 days in order to meet the demands of Odense’s pre-Christmas schedule.

The new audio infrastructure utilises QLab software to mix to a maximum of 34 sends. Sound is carried to 34 Meyer Sound MM4-XP loudspeakers, augmented by a central cluster of MINA speakers – also from Meyer Sound. Low-end is optimised by a trio of the US-based manufacturer’s USW-1P compact subwoofers.

Stouenborg’s other responsibilities ahead of the 7 November handover included the installation of more than 2km of cable.
