Denon unveils compact network music system

CEOL integrates Denon’s hi-fi sound engineering and multiple media playback options into an “incredibly compact” footprint.

CEOL integrates Denon’s hi-fi sound engineering and multiple media playback options into an “incredibly compact” footprint.

Priced at £600, the new system comprises the RCD-N7 network CD receiver and the SC-N7 speaker set.

Denon product marketing consultant Roger Batchelor told IE Residential: “The CEOL is a completely new design and different to any previous Denon product except that, like most Denon systems, it is very compact. It is also designed to be as easy to use as possible, yet offers more flexibility and performance than usual for a network music system.”

The RCD-N7 is a compact network CD receiver that lets users dock their iPod or iPhone into a dedicated cradle on the Ceol’s top. Connection via an Ethernet cable or wireless LAN allows users to experience music anywhere in the world, while there is support for WPS. Media playback possibilities include CD, Internet Radio, network music streaming, iPod/iPhone, USB memory, AirPlay (via a feature upgrade) and more.

Other features include an FM/AM radio, output of 130W and – in a move that is in line with Denon’s commitment to “eco-friendly engineering” – standby power below 0.4W.

The new CEOL by Denon will be available in a white colour finish this month. The RCD-N7 and SC-N7 will also be sold separately.
