One of London’s trendiest hotel/leisure complexes, the K West Hotel & Spa, has been equipped with a new fixed installation background music system and separate DJ PA system by A.C. Special Projects.
K West was looking to upgrade its existing bar and restaurant speaker system to increase the venue’s appeal as a premier nightlife destination during evenings and weekends. The venue approached A.C. Special Projects to specify, supply and install a discreet audio solution providing high quality sound for day-time background music applications, as well as a more powerful PA system for night-time use by DJs during weekends, private parties and corporate functions.
To replace the existing ceiling-mounted speakers in the K Lounge Bar and Kanteen restaurant, A.C. Special Projects specified fixed installation Turbosound TCS-C35T full range two-way loudspeakers. Power comes from APart 100V line power amplifiers.
The rooms also feature Martin Audio AQ6 loudspeakers and an AQ210 vented sub-bass enclosure, along with a QSC four-channel power amplifier and, from Pioneer, CDJ900 desktop CD players and a DJM400 mixer.
The portable DJ console and QSC amplifier are wired into a single power and mains distribution cable which plugs into a socket in the K Lounge Bar when in use. The amplifier provides separate volume level control of the PA system loudspeakers in both rooms.
A.C. Special Projects also mounted the sub-bass enclosure on neo pream foam to prevent any sound vibration from being transmitted through the building’s walls and floors.
