The TX-2 package features the TX-T2SE floorstanding loudspeakers and is said to enable high-end home cinema “at a fraction of the usual cost”. Central to the system are the THX Ultra2 certified TX-T2SE floorstanding loudspeakers, which are said to deliver “impressive low frequencies and unequalled wide dispersion”.
Accuracy is said to be plus or minus 1.5dB in the full range of eight octaves (70Hz-18kHz), while the speakers feature two 16.5cm Kevlar/fibre weave drivers housed in their own separate chambers. An updated version of Crystal Audio’s propriety ‘free air’ tweeter features a 25mm silk-dome neodymium tweeter that can be rotated to face ear axis.
Complementing these new loudspeakers in the system are the THX-Center, a THX Select-certified dedicated centre channel, and the THX-D rear-channel speakers, a pair of THX Select certified designs offering bipolar radiation from the drivers in phase.
Completing the package is a 200W active sub with a 30.5cm long-throw driver incorporating a light, but rigid, treated paper cone.
Throughout, the system – which is available in either Black Ash and high-gloss black finishes – incorporates low parasitic resistance components to minimise losses, along with gold-plated bi-wire able terminals and optimally-braced small-footprint cabinets.
