Crown Audio solution for Indiana kitchen restaurant

The new system incorporates one 180MAx Pack – an 80W mixer amplifier with built-in XM Radio tuner and accompanied by four JBL Control 1S speakers – along with a Crown 1160MA 1601W single channel amplifier and eight additional Control 1S speakers.

The use of the Crown amplifier with built-in XM Radio service enables Lutz and his team to change stations between the breakfast and dinner crowds. Not currently available in Europe, XM for Business offers companies the ability to experience more than 170 digital channels of XM Satellite Radio programming, including commercial-free music, sports coverage, news, talk and other audio entertainment.

“Our goal for Uptown Kitchen was to fix two big issues: the unreliable digital music player and to eliminate hot spots in the audio system,” said Kevin Cleary, president of UDI. “We’ve used the Crown/JBL combination in previous jobs and they always complement each other very well. We wanted to give Jonathan a convenient solution with even sound throughout the restaurant and I think we achieved that goal.”

Phil McPhee, vertical market manager, Commercial Sound for Crown International told II: “XM for Business gives small business owners a simple, cost-effective and legal way to provide media content in commercial applications. By integrating the XM tuner into a professional grade amplifier, we are able to provide restaurants and retail stores with a robust solution that will handle their continuous playback demands.

“The combination of XM for Business and Crown’s legendary sonic performance has created a complete solution that helps any small business owner create the environment appropriate for their business at a low cost of ownership.”
