Crestron RO2 processor chosen for Russian Federation project

The PRO2 allows each audio or video source to be integrated and accessible through an interface such as the Crestron TPS-4L installed on the main lectern. The PRO2 features six built-in COM ports, eight IR/Serial ports, eight I/O Versiports, eight isolated relays, and optional Ethernet to provide the essential interface for control of the conference suite devices.

“We only considered Crestron for this project,” commented RTA Engineering’s Vlad Sinyakov. “There are three general reasons for this: firstly, Crestron puts system designers’ complete ideas on the touchpanel screen or web interface, allowing the whole system to be controlled by the end-user. Secondly, Crestron offers plenty of proven programme modules and interface templates, with complete accessibility for installers. And the third major feature of the brand is the excellent reliability of Crestron products.”

The conference suite’s presentation system consists of a rear-projection setup, with a Christie LX 66A projector playing onto a DNP Supernova screen. The room is equipped with a DVD/HDD player, standard VHS and five VGA displays for laptops to show PowerPoint presentations.

Other equipment in the suite includes an audio system based around two Biamp AudioFLEX units, Televic TC2500 discussion units, JBL Contractor wall-mounted cabinets, QSC amplifiers and Sony BRC-300P wall-mounted PTZ cameras. Products manufactured by Extron and NEC are also featured.
