The PLX3 is a new long-range remote control for Crestron’s Prodigy home automation system. The device enables flexible control of lights, HVAC, multi-room audio, home theatres and CCTV.
The remote features a bright two-inch high-resolution colour display, ergonomic feel, piano-black exterior finish, and smooth, responsive push buttons. A thumb scroll knob and easy-to-read backlit push-buttons let users select home control commands, while displaying real-time status of lighting levels, audio volumes and temperature settings.
Operating on proven Crestron wireless technology, the PLX3 utilises a 2.4 GHz mesh network that is said to increase the strength and reliability of the entire wireless network.
Simple and reliable, PLX3 stays charged for 4-6 months on four homeowner-replaceable lithium AA batteries.
“PLX3 combines the speed, simplicity and reliability of IR/RF remotes with the long-range mobility of Wi-Fi,” said Robin van Meeuwen, v-p of sales and marketing at Crestron International. “You can control your whole home without worrying about the common gripes of WiFi such as delays in button response and intermittent signal interruptions.”
