Distributed in the UK by Cytech Europe, the Comfort Intelligent Home System incorporates a KNX-enabled advanced intruder alarm system, a home automation system that can control lighting/appliances/heating/air conditioning, an 8-mailbox voicemail system and doorphone intercom system.

Designer scene control switches, a digital answering machine, handheld remote controls and talking keypads are among the extensive range of Comfort products.

As part of the BRE Visitor Centre – which houses training courses, meetings, exhibitions and more – the Comfort Intelligent Home System unit demonstrates a number of the system’s features. By pressing different control buttons, visitors can see and hear the system tell them when an intruder enters a secure area, whilst the alarm triggers the lights to flash on and off. They can also hear a message left for callers when the owner is out, and hear the system announce the status of the home controls.

Graham Webb from BRE is pictured here (left) with Cytech Technology founder/director L Y Chiu, who told IE Residential: “Cytech supports the BRE in promoting the use of industry standards like KNX in homes and offices. Our new Comfort to KNX Interface is an important step in linking security systems to the KNX Bus.”
