Christie projectors create immersive backdrop for yoga sessions

Casa Boost, a wellness studio in Geneva, Switzerland, has deployed Captiva DWU500S projectors to send images of landscapes, galaxies and flowing textures onto a 9m-wide wall

Christie Captiva laser projectors were recently deployed to turn a wall into a dynamic visual canvas at Casa Boost, a wellness studio in Geneva, Switzerland.

The studio’s goal was to use images of landscapes, galaxies, and flowing textures to break away from traditional yoga class formats and create a space where projection would “support the emotional journey of each session”.

The installation was carried out by integrator Moonlight Drive in partnership with marketing agency The Good Brand.

Moonlight Drive selected two Christie Captiva DWU500S projectors, featuring 1DLP laser technology and WUXGA resolution (1920 x 1200). They were installed side by side to create a blend over a 9m-wide by 2.2m-high (30ft-wide by 7ft-high) wall.

The projectors, supplied by the company’s partner Charmex, deliver 3840 x 1200 resolution. Painted in a neutral grey tone, the wall displays loop video content tailored to each class, from tranquil natural scenes to animated cosmic journeys.

Boasting ultra-short throw lenses (0.25:1) and 5000 lumens of brightness, the laser illumination system provides up to 20,000 hours of operation with built-in edge blending and warping capabilities, according to Christie.

The integration also included a content server with two outputs, ambient audio, and automated scheduling aligned with class routines.

Luis Guadalajara, director at Moonlight Drive, said: “The only way to fully cover the projection area without compromising on focus or brightness was with Christie Captiva. Their ultra-short throw capability was key in avoiding shadows during classes, even when the room is full. Everything was planned remotely, based on measurements and 3D simulations. We arrived with everything ready, executed in one day, and the results exceeded expectations.”
