Chic new London venue installed with Nexo PS8s

The focal point of the new venue is a raised revolving DJ booth, surrounded by a fully circular dancefloor that features a video system installation used to display film footage, graphic effects and logos.

Sound in this area is provided by 14 Nexo PS8 full-range cabinets, augmented by four LS500 bass bins. Power comes from the venue’s existing stock of QSC amplifiers, while a BSS Soundweb is also part of the core audio specification.

The installation was carried out by Viba Sound, whose director, Huge Sadleir, highlighted the suitability of the Nexo cabinets for this particular space. “This venue was formerly operating as a nightclub (Pangaea), but the redesign process has caused the ceiling to be lowered and the floor raised to accommodate the electronics for the illuminated dancefloor. The PS8 with its rotatable horn can be used in a horizontal format, which enabled us to fit them in the restricted space.”

In other major recent installation news for Nexo, the company recently revealed that its GEO D Line array technology has again been chosen by installers ADLIB Audio as the house system for the venue previously known as the Carling Academy Oxford, but recently rebranded as an O2 Academy.
