Bosch issues new firmware for Divar XF recorder

Bosch Security Systems has announced details of a new firmware release for its Hybrid Divar XF H.264 recording platform.

Bosch Security Systems has announced details of a new firmware release for its Hybrid Divar XF H.264 recording platform. The Divar XF Hybrid H.264 Recorder is a scalable video management solution that is said to handle even the most challenging CCTV applications without demanding too much from installers and operators.

Among the “major improvements” available in the new release is a fully automated IP discovery and assignment mode, which is said to help simplify set-up and reduce IP camera installation time. With this new mode, the Divar XF automatically scans the network for any connected Bosch IP devices. The user is then presented with the option to either assign the IP device directly to the Divar XF and begin recording or to update/change the IP address. Now, IP set-up can be accomplished with a few simple mouse-clicks.

The new firmware release also allows IP camera profiles and the detection fields for motion recording to be managed directly from within the Divar XF, eliminating the need for PC-based configuration and management of the IP devices. In addition, text support (licensed feature) is provided to enable recording of text together with associated video – a feature that is useful for integration with licence-plate recognition systems such as Bosch’s REG-Sentry.

The new firmware – which also incorporates a new Smart Search feature – can be downloaded free of charge via the Bosch Security website (link below) and installed on all existing Divar XF Hybrid platforms in the field.
