Biamp audio system installed at cider house in New York state

Desono architectural loudspeakers form basis of venue-wide zoned system at the Angry Orchard Walden Cider House in Hudson Valley

Biamp’s Desono architectural loudspeakers have been deployed across the Angry Orchard Walden Cider House in Hudson Valley, New York, as part of a venue-wide audio system.

The Boston Beer Company-owned cider house receives guests across two interior levels, outdoor seating areas and event spaces, with the audio system required to support everything from relaxed tastings to live events and peak-season crowds. With no on-site IT staff, the brief called for a solution that was straightforward to operate and reliable enough to run without regular intervention.

Integrator Delaware Audio Visual specified a zoned approach using the Desono loudspeaker family, allowing staff to adjust sound levels and content per area while maintaining consistent voicing across the venue. The system uses a fully hardwired architecture, designed to eliminate the dropouts associated with Wi-Fi dependency.

Julian Wiryo, senior digital workplace engineer at Boston Beer Company, said: “Reliability and consistency are critical. Having low-maintenance, dependable solutions is essential.”

Wiryo added: “A fully hardwired system eliminated music dropouts. Nobody wants an unexpected beat drop.”

The installation is also said to provide reliable microphone support for announcements and event hosting. Delaware Audio Visual used wood-grain surface raceways and concealed cabling throughout to preserve the venue’s warm, open aesthetic and natural wood finishes.

Caleb Eller, project manager at Delaware Audio Visual, added: “The technology enhances the environment without distracting from it.”
