Barix unveils new master paging station

Introduced at last week’s ISE show, the PS1 from Barix is a fully integrated hardware solution for paging and intercom over IP.

Introduced at last week’s ISE show, the PS1 from Barix is a fully integrated hardware solution for paging and intercom over IP. The master paging solution sports two backlit push-to-talk buttons, a volume control, and a built-in speaker and microphone; and can also merge with background music systems, which opens the door to retailers, restaurants, hotels and clubs.

“It all ties into our network, which is based on open standards, so there’s no limitation to what you can do with the technology,” says Marcel van der Meijs, the company’s vice-president of sales.

ISE is one of the best platforms for Barix, says van der Meijs, due to the fact that people come from different backgrounds and different industries, and are all trying to find something new to catch their attention.
“IP ties everything in together,” he adds, “and while everybody is focused on IP video, we just do the audio, so we definitely have a different niche.”
