The 740-seat Fabia Puigserver auditorium now features a Congo desk, with a Congo jr as backup, while the 60-seat sala de prensa (lecture room) incorporates two Congo jrs with a fader unit. The theatre has also purchased a Congo and Congo jr backup system for its national tours.
ETC lighting fixtures are also part of the venue’s specification, specifically 60 Source Four luminaires.
“We have always worked with Avab desks, so Congo was the natural choice for the type of work that we do,” said Rai Garc_a, head of Teatre Lliure’s lighting department. “ETC is a brand that means safety and we know it’s a brand we can trust.”
Speaking to II, ETC’s associate regional manager for the southern region, David Gray, put the Teatre Lliure purchase in the context of wider international success. “Our lighting control desk user base across southern Europe, the Middle East and Africa is expanding rapidly as users discover the power and versatility of Congo, Eos and Ion,” he said. “While Teatre Lliure in Barcelona is adding ETC dimming with both Congo and Congo jr, Eos is running High School Musical in Artscape, Cape Town, and Dubai TV in UAE has added Ion.”
