A removable wall means that the Bikini club – which has used NEXO sound systems for the last 12 years – can operate as one 900-capacity venue or two spaces. Audio consultant Jose Maria Mendez of Doscientos Veinte was originally asked to specify and install a new PA system for the smaller of the two spaces, the Sala Arutanga. The solution devised by Mendez involved the replacement of traditional multicore and wiring with Cat-5 shielded cable, along with the structuring of the whole club system to operate on a daisy-chain network.
The new line array system installed in the Sala Arutanga comprises NEXO GEO D Series cabinets – six D10 mid-high modules in two clusters of three and two GEO SUBs – all flown above the dancefloor.
