Distributor AWE Europe and Panasonic have announced the launch of two new 3D products suitable for CI applications: the 65” Custom House Theatre plasma display and Panasonic’s first full HD, 3D home cinema projector.
The TH-65VX300 joins Panasonic’s existing range of 3D CHT plasma displays, which includes the 85”, 103” and 152”. Designed to a reference standard, its 30-bit visual engine is able to produce both 2D and 3D images with ‘stunning’ life-like details and ‘virtually zero’ cross talk or motion issues. The 65VX300 features a highly accurate Colour Gamut, which allows the screen to reproduce original movie colours as the director intended. Other CI features include RS-232, LAN control and web browser access.
The PT-AT5000E (pictured), meanwhile, is Panasonic’s first Full HD 3D home theatre projector with 1080p (1,920 x 1,080 pixel) resolution. The world’s first 3D projector to use transparent LCD panels driven at 480Hz, the PT-AT5000E also features a newly developed optical engine producing 300,000:1 contrast ratio and 2,000 lumens of brightness.
As part of advanced set up options, the left and right eye images can be displayed side by side with individual Waveform Monitor facility to adjust 3D picture balance. Other 3D features include the 2D-3D Conversion, which converts 2D content into 3D images for 3D projection with five different 3D effect modes.
AWE product manager James Drummie commented: “Demand for 3D capability continues to build in the CI market, and new, high quality products which offer this capability are a huge hit with installers. We are delighted to announce the TH-65VX300, the reference standard in flat screens and the PT-AT5000E projector, which give the viewer a visually stunning yet natural viewing experience. If first impressions are anything to go by, we expect to see these products flying out of our warehouse.”
