AVM Education completes AV project at Bristol museum

Located on Bristol’s historic dockside, the new MShed museum has been developed to retain the character of the former 1950s transit shed while providing a dynamic experience for visitors.

Located on Bristol’s historic dockside, the new MShed museum has been developed to retain the character of the former 1950s transit shed while providing a dynamic experience for visitors.

The major renovation project involved in readying the museum for the public drew on the involvement of AV supplier and installer AVM Education. At the core of the fit-out were a large, electrically-operated projection screen, high brightness wide screen projector and a zoned audio system, featuring dedicated processor, four wireless mics, one lectern microphone, DVD player and hearing loop. The system was fully integrated with a wall-mounted Crestron control panel and an AMX media switcher.

AVM – which delivered this complex integration to a very tight timescale – is to host an AV technology event at the MShed on 9 November. For more information, consult www.avmvision.com/event-registration/bristol-technology-event.

MShed’s Ray Barnett commented: “The audio-visual element of the project has provided an easy-to-use, modern and interactive environment. AVM Education was able to deliver this at short notice and worked hard to ensure it was delivered within the given timescales and remained within budget. We are delighted with the renovation work, which has provided modern visitor facilities which will last well into the future.”
