The venue underwent a major AV and broadcast systems upgrade in order to host the event. The systems were devised and installed by locally based systems integrator AV-Tech. For the main stadium showcourt (pictured), AV-Tech specified a system including Lab.gruppen fP 6400 and C5:4X amplifiers, and a Community point-source loudspeaker system augmented by three R6-Basshorns. The practice court systems, meanwhile, each feature four Community R.5HP loudspeakers powered by a single Lab.gruppen C10:4X.
AV-Tech also supplied a complete broadcast solution for the Al Jazeera Broadcasting Sports Channel, along with a complete video distribution system across encompassing 55in LCD screens.
This set-up will provide the technical foundation for the venue's hosting of the WTA Championships for the next two ears. As AV-Tech's general manager, Hadi Arzouni, pointed out: "It was imperative that we selected only the very best equipment from the top manufacturers. Our first choice for amplification is always Lab.gruppen for reasons of reliability and sound quality, and this installation was no exception."
