A stack of PIXERA two QUAD Gen.2 media servers from AV Stumpfl has been deployed to drive the largest architectural deployment to date of Megapixel’s Ventana microLED technology at the LifeWave Welcome Center in Draper, Utah, US. The permanent installation is designed to take visitors on a high-spec, sci-fi-themed audiovisual journey through the wellness brand’s story and future aspirations.
The Welcome Center, which was commissioned by LifeWave founder and Star Trek enthusiast David Schmidt, was conceived as a futuristic, multi-zone experience for the company’s most senior brand ambassadors. Emmy Award-winning designer Doug Drexler – known for his work on Star Trek TV and film productions – led the creative design, while California-based integrator Original Syndicate handled system design and technical integration.

The immersive tour begins in the Hologram Room, where visitors are greeted by a life-sized holographic introduction from Schmidt, delivered via a Proto Epic display. From there, they move into the Time Travel Tunnel – a corridor clad in ultra-fine-pitch Ventana microLED displays, including 0.8mm-pitch walls and a bespoke 1.25mm-pitch ceiling installation.
Originally designed with portrait LCDs, the tunnel’s concept evolved into an LED environment following real-time pre-visualisation work by Original Syndicate.
Later stages of the tour include a series of interactive kiosks featuring 55in Sony OLED displays, and a final zone – the Beyond Tomorrow area – where transparent LG OLED cylinders present layered video content designed to appear as if floating in space. Content in this zone highlights the company’s future-facing concepts, such as ‘light-infused’ water and humanitarian drones.
The system is operated via a single-button interface using a Stream Deck, with operator access also available through a 4K KVM system from a dedicated control room.
The entire display system is powered by the PIXERA media server platform, which also manages playback and control across the Welcome Center’s four main zones. The platform’s PIXERA Control feature allowed the team to implement third-party system integration without the need for additional show control infrastructure.
Marcus Bengtsson, CTO of Original Syndicate, said: “The initial design called for a series of portrait LCDs in the tunnel. But we were able to show, through real-time pre-visualisation, how a seamless LED solution would vastly improve the experience.”
Bengtsson concluded: “Our aim was to create something immersive, reliable and future-proof. This isn’t a typical corporate activation – it’s a permanent experience space, built to the same visual standards as a virtual production or broadcast environment. PIXERA helped give us the creative freedom and technical scalability to make that happen.”
