An AV Stumpfl projection BLACKPEAK screen has been installed at The Flint theatre, located in the historic centre of Amersfoort, Netherlands. The installation of the screen was driven by the need to provide an enhanced visual experience for theatre shows, business events, and children’s movie sessions.
AED Display, the exclusive Benelux distributor for AV Stumpfl’s BLACKPEAK screens, installed the 5.08m by 2.94m screen on the stage wall, where its black design allows it to blend in, ensuring the focus remains on the performance, according AV Stumpfl.
Carrol van Russel, sales manager of AED Display, said: “During theatre performances, when the environment is dark, Flint can project onto the BLACKPEAK without any unwanted light reflection… A white screen reflects a significant amount of ambient light, which can affect the viewing experience. In contrast, a black screen offers superior clarity, with deeper, more accurate black.”
She added: “A year ago we introduced BLACKPEAK to the market during a special session, and as soon as the Flint team saw the screen, they were immediately impressed and eager to have it.”
According to Jos Houweling, AV specialist at Flint, the corporate events market is ever evolving, with visual needs ranging from standard PowerPoint to graphic-rich content featuring high-resolution videos and pictures. This is why the theatre needed a screen surface that could deliver this while also blending in with the surroundings, she says.
She commented: “During blackouts and low light show there is no visible white screen on stage; it blends perfectly in with the décor, taking the performances and corporate events to another level.”
