Marrying high-tech control with the cutting edge in commercial lighting, sunDial will be driving Lumiblade, Philips’ exciting new OLED (organic LED) product, on stand J02 at LuxLive 2012, Earls Court, London 6-7 November 2012. The landscape of lighting is evolving towards a greener future, but the introduction of more eco-friendly sources such as LED is just part of the story. Only by using and controlling fixtures in a more intelligent manner can we harness the full potential of the smart approach to lighting. Artistic Licence Engineering’s sunDial range provides the technology to make this happen. The controllers have built-in DMX remote device management (RDM) and DALI back-channel, so that sunDial not only tells the fixture what to do, but also listen to its environment. Such feedback provides intelligent monitoring of installations, allowing the implementation of fault reporting and energy conserving programmes. Based on a mix-and-match concept, sunDial units may be combined to provide multi-functional control of complex lighting environments. With DALI and DMX inputs, high channel counts and dimming to suit every fixture from incandescent to solid-state, sunDial is the embodiment of intelligent lighting control. See the results in action at LuxLive 2012 on stand J02, where mains-powered sunDial will be controlling halogen, LED and the latest in OLED lighting technology, Philips’ Lumiblade. OLED is an exciting new planar lighting technology. Warm, diffuse white light emanates from eco-friendly, high efficiency panels. Ultrathin and lightweight, OLED lighting offers the tantalising prospects of transparency in the off-state, colour tunability and flexibility in the near future. Philips Lumiblade is one of the first commercially available OLED products. Like conventional (inorganic) LEDs, the devices require DC input. However, with technology so new, the suitability of existing LED drivers cannot be assumed. ALE’s sunDial dimmers for OLED remove the element of doubt, providing specifically-tailored control with stringent, fail-safe operation. Conventional LED fixtures are completely compatible with sunDial OLED drivers. www.ArtisticLicenceEngineering.comwww.lumiblade-experience.com
