Apex launches Intelli-Z² at Prolight + Sound

Following the success of the Intelli-X² in live audio applications for touring bands and festivals, Apex has developed the Intelli-Z² specifically for fixed installation.

Apex has expanded its system management processor offering at this year’s Prolight + Sound show with the launch of its Intelli-Z². The Intelli-Z², which arrives 18 months after the Intelli-X² (designed for the live audio market), features a four in/eight out configuration, an integral mixer and selectable analogue or AES-3 I/O. Developed for fixed installations where processors are not easily accessed, such as theatres and conference venues, the new processor from Apex utilises the power of Apex Intelli-Ware remote control software. This allows the system to be controlled without additional hardware via a remote computer or tablet running Intelli-Ware. “Based on the respected Intelli-X² series platform, the new Intelli-Z² delivers the same level of power, control and performance, but in an installation-friendly package,” said Jeroen Sierjacobs, Apex marketing manager. “Intelli-Ware is a powerful control application but it is very easy to use. It makes Intelli-Z² the ideal control solution for situations where processors are installed in places that don’t lend themselves to frequent, straightforward access.” The existing Intelli-X² processors are a popular choice for in a wide range of touring bands, musicals and festivals, and the latest Intelli-Z² system management processor is targeted at making the same impact on the installation market.
