Alfalite has supplied LED display technology to Spain’s national public broadcaster RTVE, in a strong example of the convergence of the pro AV and broadcast sectors.
The installation at RTVE’s Madrid production facility comprises two custom LED displays: a 7 x 2-metre curved screen and a 9 x 1-metre secondary display, both using Alfalite’s NEOPIX 1.5 MATIX AlfaCOB technology. The screens are designed to serve as the primary visual background for news, current affairs and interview-based programming. This marks the first deployment of NEOPIX technology in a broadcast environment, according to Alfalite.
The displays feature a 1.5mm pixel pitch and integrate MATIX AlfaCOB, Alfalite’s Chip-on-Board technology, which is designed to enhance LED protection, improve visual uniformity and optimise thermal dissipation. The solution is intended to provide a robust and maintainable surface for intensive studio use.
The installation builds on a relationship that began in 2021, when Alfalite first supplied LED technology to RTVE. In 2023, the broadcaster deployed 964 Alfalite ModularPix Pro 1.9 ORIM LED modules across multiple production facilities in Madrid and regional centres.
The project was delivered in collaboration with Datos Media Technologies, Alfalite’s technology partner.
