ACSP provides Tesco tour with audio and lighting solution

UK supermarket Tesco is sponsoring the MG KX Momentum Race Team, and marketing consultancy Brand Pilot turned to A.C. Special Projects to provide a touring audio and lighting capability.

A.C. Special Projects (ACSP) has supplied Brand Pilot, a strategic marketing consultancy based in Oxford, UK, with a complete touring audio and lighting solution for the promotional stand used at race circuits across the UK supporting Tesco’s sponsorship of the MG KX Momentum Race Team.

The 10 x 15 metre structure has been appearing throughout the 2012 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) racing season, including visits to the legendary Brands Hatch, Donington Park and Silverstone circuits.

The all-new MG Motor UK team main sponsors are Tesco’s Momentum99 fuel and KX Energy Drink. The team is piloted by double BTCC champion Jason Plato. Completing the all-British line-up, the team’s new MG6 GT five-door fastback is the first new MG in 16 years, designed and engineered at MG Motor’s UK plant in Birmingham.

The stand was divided into two sections. One was dedicated to KX energy drink, the other to Tesco’s Petrol Filling Station business where they showcase the latest petrol pumps, have a replica race car on display and promote the performance unleaded fuel Momentum99.

The audio system comprises Wharfedale Si-10X full range speakers powered by Crown XTi-2002 amps, complete with a Cloud CX-263 three zone mixer, Sennheiser hand-held radio mics and a Numark M8 4 channel DJ mixer.

The lighting includes Chauvet COLORado LED wash light fixtures and Legend 412 moving yokes, plus cabling, distro and a pre-programmed DMX pre-set control panel for simple touch-button selection of different lighting states and sequences.

The speakers and lighting fixtures all clamp to the stand’s trussing superstructure.
