W-DMX – 30,000 units shipped and counting

Prior to joining Promethean in September 2007, Jean-Yves Charlier was CEO of Colt Telecom and chief operations officer of BT Global Services. Under his leadership, Promethean has further consolidated its market position across the 90 countries where it operates and achieved revenue growth of 49% in 2008, compared with 25% in the previous year.

The BVCA Award acknowledges Charlier in the category of Best CEO of Private Equity-Backed Companies in the UK. The honour was determined by a panel of judges including CBI and Dow Jones advisers, senior private equity professionals and representatives from the BVCA.

Meanwhile, concerning the new board appointments, both Roscini and Rowley arrive at Promethean with impressive CVs. Roscini’s credits include Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley, while Rowley has had stints with Kingfisher, EMI Music Worldwide and Golden Books, among others.

“We are delighted to welcome Philip and Dante to the board,” said Chalkfree chairman Graham Howe. “Dante and Philip’s impressive track records and experience will strengthen our Board and are highly relevant as we plan our continued expansion and as more and more countries turn their attention to bringing interactive learning technology to their classrooms.”
