‘Unprecedented success’ of Invision Home Technology Showcase

Distributor Invision UK has declared its inaugural Home Technology Showcase “an unprecedented success” following the two-day event at Epsom racecourse on 14 and 15 May.

Distributor Invision UK has declared its inaugural Home Technology Showcase “an unprecedented success” following the two-day event at Epsom racecourse on 14 and 15 May. “It’s been a fantastic couple of days… It completely exceeded our expectations,” said Mark Taylor, business manager of Invision UK. Channel partners displaying their wares included JVC, Autonomic, RTI, Xantech, Wyrestorm, Luxul, Niles, Sunfire, LG, Audio Control, Elan g!, Aton, ICE Cables, Aquavision and iRoom. While home technology was the main focus of the event, many exhibitors had products that took them into the commercial space. For instance, Aquavision was showing surface-mount mirror televisions that have been specified in high-end corporate environments. Austrian company iRoom’s motorised, secure docks for iPads and other ‘iDevices’, although initially targeted at CI applications, clearly have a wider potential market. And Wyrestorm’s HDBaseT connectivity products have a broad range of application sectors. Adrian Ickeringill, EMEA general manager at Wyrestorm, remarked: “The quantity and quality of the attendees has been very impressive indeed… [There was a] great opportunity to have dialogue with some key installers.”
JVC demonstrated its DLA-X55 projector, which simulates a 4K picture with its ‘e-shift’ technology, which adds extra pixels to HD source material. “The show has been very busy,” said Larry Sadoo from JVC marketing. “Those that haven’t seen JVC projectors before were very impressed and amazed at the picture quality of the X55.” Adrian Summers of Invision Express commented: “We demoed to scores of top installers over the two days – which equates to months and months working out in the field!” Pete Baker, senior vice president of RTI, flew over from the company’s headquarters in Minneapolis for the event. He said: “I think we’ve had a great turnout; a very good selection of dealers who are either new to RTI or looking for a new control system. [They] have been very responsive; very interested in checking out what we have to offer.” Taylor concluded: “We were delighted with the turnout from our dealer base and really grateful for the support of our manufacturers who helped to make this event the success it was. I would like to think that this is just the beginning of something special.”
