Tuesday’s CEDIA and InfoComm education sessions

The Art of Project Documentation, Technology and Consumer Trends and Setting Audio Gain – Getting it Right are just some of the highlights in today’s schedule, which features a combined total of 16 sessions from the two associations.

InfoComm and CEDIA are hosting a combined total of 16 education sessions today covering topics as diverse as Building and Maintaining a Profitable Website to Technology and Consumer Trends.

The day begins with Simon Buddle discussing The Art of Project Documentation at 9.30 in room D202. This course will teach attendees how to use documentation to ensure great project communication and will include tips on how to lay out the documents as well as going through proper revision management.

Buddle explains: “We’ll look at the documents by project stage, understand their relevance and set fire to a few myths. Professional documentation sets the standard by which your company will be judged and appointed: get it right and you’ll get paid for it, get it wrong and you’ll get sued.”

The afternoon begins with AMX Europe’s Brian Davies presenting System Design in the Net-centric Era at 13.00-14.30 in room D204. This course will present the new generation of thought processes/design approaches required to build a successful system that leverages the network to its best effect.

Davies says: “The presentation will give delegates an appreciation of the differences in approach that net-centric design demands, in comparison to traditional AV system solutions. Delegates will also gain an understanding of the longer-term strategy required to manage net-centric solutions.”

At the same time in room D201, Peter Aylett will be presenting Technology and Consumer Trends, highlighting future technologies and perceptions that will affect the residential integration sector.

Aylett explains: “We will be looking at how bandwidth drives content, the importance of designing platforms rather than systems, developments in Ethernet and wireless networks, the implications of 4G and The Internet Of Things and much, much more!”

Also this afternoon, Lectrosonic’s Gordon Moore will discuss Setting Audio Gain – Getting it Right. Running from 15.00-15.50 in room D203, attendees will learn the fundamentals of setting audio throughout a sound system.

“Gain structure issues are among the most common problem found in sound system deployments,” says Moore. “We will discuss how to identify gain structure problems and how to correct them. This seminar will cover not only the cause and effect of poor gain structure but will offer two simple methods for setting up gain. Both methods require only simple equipment – no fancy expensive audio equipment is needed.”

A number of free-to-attend manufacturer sessions will also run throughout today. More information is available from the ISE website.
