The ultimate home theatre?

PMC has joined forces with Prism Sound, owner of the Imerge brand, to produce an Art Deco themed, 6m x 4m custom-built theatre on the PMC stand.

PMC has joined forces with Prism Sound, owner of the Imerge brand, to produce an Art Deco themed, 6mx4m custom-built theatre on the PMC stand.

The theatre is fitted out with PMC’s new IB2XBDS-A active monitors for the front left, right and centre channels, and the slim-line wafer series for the rears, which are powered by Bryston’s 4B SST2 two channel amplifier.

The Bryston SP3 Surround Processor handles audio processing, and supplying the movie content is the new Imerge MS1-HD high definition media server. Projector manufacturer SIM2 adds the class-leading 3-chip DLP projector and screen combination. The PMC IB2XBDS-A system comprises the three-way IB2S-A, with a 34mm tweeter, 75mm fabric dome midrange and 250mm carbon fibre/Nomex piston bass driver, as well as the XBD bass cabinet for extended low frequency output. Powered by 1,520W of PMC-designed amplification with DSP control, the IB2XBDS-A features PMC’s ATL (Advanced Transmission Line) technology, to produce low distortion bass output to below 20Hz.

PMC’s wafer series, with bespoke printed grilles, are featured on the rear channels of what the company is dubbing the Ultimate Home Theatre, and are designed for discrete installation without compromising the quality of reproduction.

PMC has a long-standing relationship with Prism Sound. The two companies have worked together in the professional audio industry for 15 years, supplying many of the world’s leading recording studios. With Prism Sound’s recent purchase of the Imerge business, it was a logical step for them to co-operate at the ISE show to enable each organisation to demonstrate the elements required for the very best in home theatre solutions, says the exhibitor.
