The Russia house (of worship)

In another addition to the manufacturer's long roll-call of HoW installations, Tannoy’s QFlex digitally steerable column array loudspeakers have been specified for a new-build church located in the village of Usovo, near Moscow.

Tannoy’s QFlex digitally steerable column array loudspeakers have been installed in a new-build church located in the village of Usovo, near Moscow.

Opened earlier this year with a ceremony attended by former Russian President and current Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, Temple Spasa Nerukotvornogo Obraza (loosely translated as the Parish Church of the Saviour ‘Not Made by Hands’) was designed with a firm emphasis on high quality audio. Having originally intended to specify another loudspeaker brand, principal A/V contractor SpecVideoProject (SVP) brought Tannoy’s distribution partner in Russia, I.S.P.A. Engineering, to the project after discovering the QFlex system.

Ultimately, it was determined that the church’s sound reinforcement requirements could be handled by a pair of compact QFlex 16 columns. The Tannoy speakers provide a highly discrete solution – a vital consideration in the aesthetically ornate worship space.

In addition, Tannoy Di5a self-powered surface-mount loudspeakers (in white) have been installed around the entrance area, delivering full-range audio for those approaching or leaving the HoW.

SVP is said to be “extremely satisfied” with the results, paying tribute to QFlex’s acoustic control capabilities.
