Tech&Learning UK to support Future EdTech Conference

Tech&Learning UK has been named as a media partner of the Future EdTech conference and exhibition, to be held at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel in London on 2-3 June.

Tech&Learning UK has been named as a media partner of the Future EdTech 2015 conference and exhibition, to be held at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel in London on 2-3 June.

Future EdTech features two full days of content involving more than 50 speakers and is the only event in Europe that brings together more than 250 thought-leaders, innovators from institutional administration, IT, plus academics and pedagogy experts. They will address the strategic and tactical value of technology in changing higher education operating models.

Speakers currently confirmed include Jeremy Pritchard, head of education, bio sciences school at University of Birmingham, Jeff Haywood, CIO at University of Edinburgh, and Clifton Kandler, head of web services at University of Greenwich.

Topics up for discussion include e-learning, which will be covered in a Drill Down Round Table Session starting at 11.45 on 2 June. This will give attendees the opportunity to pose questions and debate topics in an informal environment. 15:00-15:40 the same day will see the Future EdTech Market Lab. Lab 1 will cover improving student success and experience, while Lab 2 will look at supporting teacher innovation via technology.

The following day will begin with a Breakfast Briefing at 08.30 where attendees will be able to debate how to gain the most ROI both for student support and as a deployment within the VLE environment. This will be followed by a keynote session on ‘Driving change in teaching and learning’, which will look beyond the hype of MOOCs and ask what’s really keeping students engaged and improving outcomes.

Another highlight will be ‘Leveraging technology to support student retention’ a hands-on workshop that will offer strategies to overcome the challenges of student attrition at 14:10 on 2 June, this runs at the same time as ‘Successfully overcoming challenges to cloud migration’ which will help institutions overcome the challenges to cloud adoption.
