Sound Technology opens new HQ demo room

Sound Technology has opened a new demo facility at its HQ in Letchworth Garden City, signalling its commitment to growth in the installed sound segment of the pro audio market.

Sound Technology, UK distributor for Harman Professional, has opened its new pro audio demonstration facility at its headquarters in Letchworth Garden City. The 4,000sqft space now provides an environment for installers, consultants, resellers and hire companies to listen to a comprehensive selection of the Harman Pro product portfolio. “We’ve invested a great deal in the building so our customers that bit extra,” commented Ian Cullen (pictured middle left), marketing manager at Sound Technology. “For two years we’ve had a project team to address the pro market. But for a long time we’ve recognised the need for this type of facility. It’s just been a matter of finding a suitable location; and it was fortuitous that the building at our [HQ] site became available.” Kit at the Sound Technology demo facility includes, amongst others, the latest JBL CBT passive line array columns, CDi and XTi amplifiers, and AKG DMS700 digital wireless – with the entire system networked over BSS Soundweb and controlled via Soundcraft’s Vi and Si Compact consoles. “This is an investment not to maintain what we’re doing already, but to increase what we’re doing, because it is a segment that there is growth in,” added Dave Marshall (pictured middle right), managing director at Sound Technology. “Some segments such as MI are tough, but install is promising. We’ve never been a distributor that’s purely a box shifter, and this new facility is our statement of intent.” Marshall also stated that the demo room would be used by clients to show end users what the Harman family of products could offer them. It will also serve as a training space, with an EASE course and VTX training already scheduled for October and September respectively. Cullen commented that this might serve two purposes, as training day attendees may well be impressed with equipment capabilities. Pictured from left to right are Nick Boggon, marketing manager; Gert Sanner, Harman Pro EMEA tour sales market manager; Ian Cullen; Dave Marshall; Ben Todd, project engineer; Sam Brandon, project engineering manager. www.soundtech.co.ukwww.harman.com
