Drawn from a total of 99 countries, the visitors flowing through the turnstiles across the three-day event were confronted by a show that occupied seven halls and an impressive 38,500sq m (gross) of exhibition space.
As ever, there were a number of notable new product launches – among them Sony’s 1080i (1080-line interlace) HD videoconferencing system and a raft of new items from Speakercraft – and a couple of headline-grabbing deals, including Stardraw.com’s new distribution arrangement with COMM-TEC.
Feedback from exhibitors was overwhelmingly positive. “We’re very happy with our location and the traffic is good. It’s all gone very smoothly,” said Erika Williams from Canford Audio mid-show.
Education is an equally important part of ISE, however, and CEDIA, InfoComm and others contributed to an extensive programme that encompassed subjects from IP convergence in residential installs to the rapidly-expanding telepresence market.
ISE will return to the RAI Centre again in 2009, when it is due to take place from February 3 to 5.
