Sennheiser system supplied by AC-ET

A.C. Entertainment Technologies’ (AC-ET) audio division has supplied an extensive Sennheiser 312 G3 wireless microphone system to Sutton, Surrey, UK-based Point Source Productions.

A.C. Entertainment Technologies’ (AC-ET) audio division has supplied an extensive Sennheiser 312 G3 wireless microphone system to Sutton, Surrey, UK-based Point Source Productions. The company has replaced all its previous microphone systems and standardised on Sennheiser and the new Channel 38 system.

The sale initially comprised 44 omni-directional clip-on lapel mics complete with belt packs and receiver, and was shortly followed by another six receivers and dynamic cardioid hand-held transmitters, plus all the necessary antennae and distribution. It was co-ordinated by A.C. Audio’s Stuart Moots with Point Source Productions’ Stephen Capel.

Point Source Productions is a lighting, sound, staging and AV company specialising in the conference, exhibition, corporate events and theatre sectors. They also engage in a lot of work with local theatres and schools in and around London and the ‘home counties’.

While lighting makes up a larger section of their equipment inventory, the supply of numerous small to medium audio systems is an important element of their business.

Founded in 1997, Point Source Productions has used AC-ET as a supplier from the outset. “The service is excellent,” said Capel. “Their stock-holding levels, general response time and willingness to pull out all the stops to make things happen, often at extremely short notice, is incredible.”

AC-ET’s Audio division is an agent for most leading manufacturers in all pro audio equipment sectors, providing a complete one-stop-shop service. Capel said that he had numerous questions relating to the Channel 38 digital switchover, which A.C. Audio were able to answer in detail and with authority in the process of helping develop the right solution for Point Source Productions’ specific needs.

Capel also wanted to buy into and standardise on a premium brand, for which Sennheiser ticked all the right boxes. “G3 seemed to be the most complete system,” he said. “It has all the functionality you need for a good price, including user-friendly software that can be run from a laptop for controlling all the mics and tuning-in to frequencies and so on, together with a good ‘extras’ package.” In addition, as many other companies stock Sennheiser, it’s also valuable as a cross-rental item.
