Samsung Electronics appoints UK projector distributor

Sahara Presentation Systems will supply Samsung's full range of projectors in the UK as a result of the new agreement.

Sahara Presentation Systems will supply Samsung’s full range of projectors in the UK as a result of the new agreement. The Samsung projector line includes a mix of LCD and DLP models for education and business applications at resolutions from SVGA to XGA up to 4,000 ANSI lumens, as well as an extensive selection of LED-based projectors – to be expanded further in the near-future by the SP-F10M 1000 ANSI lumens-equivalent LED data projector.

The distribution agreement commenced officially on 1 April 2010 and Sahara expects to have stock in mid-April. A spokesperson told IE that the launch of the aforementioned SP-F10M is anticipated to take place in mid-summer.

Dominic Webb, general manager for the Digital Display division at Samsung Electronics, said: “The appointment of Sahara broadens Samsung’s reach into the UK reseller channel particularly into education, a target sector in the UK market for Samsung, in preparation for the launch of a number of new projector models during 2010.”

Kevin Batley (pictured), managing director of Sahara Presentation Systems, added: “The agreement enables us to partner with Samsung to drive sales in education and business, and build a substantial presence in the UK projector market. Samsung’s projector range provides our resellers with key products for the education market and is an excellent fit with our existing projector vendors, Hitachi and Sanyo.”
