Entertainment lighting specialist White Light has recently supplied 18 of Robert Juliat’s Lancelot 4000W followspots to two other lighting rental companies, HSL and Neg Earth.
With a 4kHTI lamp and a beam adjustable from 2-5˚, Lancelot is a followspot designed for the largest of venues and biggest of shows, giving a high output and a precise, controllable beam over even the longest of throws. This made it, according to White Light, the perfect choice for shows by JLS – which HSL supplied from twelve of their newly purchased units – and Take That, which Neg Earth supplied from their new stock of six Lancelots. Lancelots are also in use on Shrek at London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane and on The Wizard of Oz at The London Palladium, as part of a rig supplied by White Light.
Lancelot is said to be much more than a followspot, however: it is described as a versatile, modular effects projector that can be fitted with one or two six-slot rotating indexing/rotating gobo wheels, an animation effect, shutter blades, Chromix colour effects and others. Effects can either be operated locally at the spot or remotely via DMX. White Light says that the modules make the Lancelot a great choice for logo or image projection over even long throws or bright lighting states – and for rental companies such as HSL and Neg Earth looking for equipment versatile enough to be in constant demand; with large trap doors offering easy access to removable assemblies, Lancelot is also said to be easy to maintain over a long working life.
The Robert Juliat range incorporates fixtures of every type and scale, with followspots ranging from the Lancelot to the compact Buxie, tungsten fixtures such as the versatile Cin’k, and the new Aledin range of LED low-power, high-output fixtures now including the 630SX profile spot and 330LF wash light.
The entire Juliat range, together with products from many of the world’s other leading fixture manufacturers, is available in the UK exclusively from White Light.
