One of the largest theatres in Asia, Guangzhou Opera House becomes the latest internationally prominent live performance venues to be equipped with a comprehensive intercom system from Riedel Communications. A combination of wired Riedel Performer partyline and wireless Riedel Acrobat intercom systems was installed by Leifull Light & Sound.
The core of the new set-up is provided by two Performer C44 system interfaces, used in conjunction with 12 Performer C3 beltpacks. They are complemented by eight Performer CD-2 desktop control panels and 30 CW-2 wallmount speaker stations.
Acrobat CC-8 base stations and Acrobat active antennas, which are powered over Ethernet, provide the infrastructure for eight wireless Acrobat beltpacks. The Acrobat technology utilises the benefits of the DECT standard’s base layer, yielding a license-free, cellular architecture with seamless handover between cells,
Three additional Performer CR4 Master Stations have been selected to integrate the wireless intercom system Acrobat into the communications infrastructure.
Reflecting on the Chinese market in general, Joe Tan, Riedel’s sales manager Asia-Pacific, told IE: “Our involvement in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, as well as many other projects such as the World exposition in Shanghai or the upcoming Asian Games in Guangzhou, have certainly gained good recognition of Riedel’s technology. Getting the right partner with the right attitude and commitment has [helped Riedel to become] one of the dominant players in China!”
