Martin Audio strengthens Southeast Asia presence

British audio manufacturer has entered a strategic partnership with EXPO AV, a Singapore rental and staging specialist, centred on expanded deployment of its loudspeakers across MICE venues

Martin Audio has formalised a strategic partnership with Singapore-based EXPO AV as the rental and production company marks 20 years since its foundation. The collaboration builds on a long-standing trading relationship and is intended to support wider adoption of Martin Audio’s professional loudspeaker systems in Southeast Asia, particularly within the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) sector.

EXPO AV, which has positioned itself as a full-service production rental staging provider, began investing in Martin Audio systems shortly after launching in 2006. Over time, its inventory has expanded from early Wavefront systems through to MLA and, most recently, the Wavefront Precision (WPC) line array platform.

As part of the partnership, EXPO AV has made its largest Martin Audio investment to date, led by a 36-cabinet WPC system. The order also includes SHX218, SX218 and flown SXH118 subwoofers, XE300 stage monitors and multiple FlexPoint models, including FP6, FP8 and FP12. The company says the systems are designed to cover larger venues and touring-style productions typical of Singapore’s expanding events market.

The deployment is supported by Martin Audio’s DISPLAY system prediction and optimisation software, which is intended to assist with accurate system design and repeatable performance across different venues.

Gerard Rodrigues, managing director, EXPO AV, said: “We are a strong supporter and believer in the Martin Audio brand and philosophy. We have always been attracted to the quality of the sound, and throughout its history the company has maintained a focus on great-sounding loudspeakers. Having access to a wide range of systems – from Wavefront Precision through to FlexPoint – gives us flexibility across many different event types.”

Rodrigues noted that the latest Wavefront Precision system has already been used extensively across large-scale events in Singapore, with visiting engineers and integrators invited to evaluate the system in real-world conditions.

He also highlighted the role of long-term regional support. Rodrigues said: “The relationship and trust we have built over the years made the decision easier, particularly when it came to understanding the technical details and system capabilities.”

Dave McKinney, founder, Generation AV, the Asia Pacific representative for Martin Audio, added: “EXPO AV’s investment reflects a clear technical strategy. The focus has been on scalable systems, predictable coverage and consistent results, which aligns closely with how Wavefront Precision and FlexPoint are designed to be used.”

The partnership is expected to see further demonstrations and technical showcases aimed at customers and regional partners, as EXPO AV continues to integrate Martin Audio systems into its rental inventory for large-format events.
